Times Tables is a core area of maths where support from parents really makes a difference. In the earlier years, it’s about counting up in lots of simple numbers, like 2s, 5s and 10s. As your child progresses through school, knowing their tables is essential to understanding  the more advanced topics they learn in Years 3 - 6, such as fractions, ratio and  measurement. 

Please note that Y4 children will be required to complete a statutory times tables assessment in the Summer term. They will be required to quickly recall all times tables facts up to 12 x 12. 

Three Times Tables Practice Tests for each year group are provided here. Your child can complete each of the three times tables test themselves, writing the time at the start and end of each test so they can track to see if they’re becoming quicker over time.

Children may be able to mark their tests using the mark scheme themselves.
